Paint, Stain and Tile Oh My!

Lot's of exciting updates this week! Paint and stain are finished (except for floors) and tile has started. Time to start counting down until November 14th!

Loving how the white paint turned out. So crisp and clean.

Bead-board ceiling in the kitchen

I worked closely with the painter to stain and sand the island in a way that would make it look old and add some character.

Backside of the island. Hole is where the microwave drawer will go.

 Walk in pantry

Cannot wait to hang Christmas garland on this stair rail!

Mudroom tile. Had to do a shout of to my old kitchen floor on Ellsworth. That was one of my favorite parts of our first home and I love that I could bring a little piece of it to our new home.

Powder bath with reclaimed tin that my Grandpa got from an old shed roof in Ennis.

 Master bedroom
Custom door that will go on barn door tracks between our bedroom and bathroom.

 Master bath vanity
 My closet
 Brox's room

Outdoor fireplace slowly but surely going up

Had to throw in one of the view with the cows grazing in the distance.

Kitchen Storage

So I may be a little overly excited about my kitchen storage but hey, after coming from the worlds smallest kitchen in our first home where I had to go to the grocery store before every meal I cooked and store entertaining items in my closet I think the excitement is reasonable!

Deep pullout drawers under my breakfast nook bench seating. Perfect place for linen napkins, tablecloths and the one on the end will be for some of Brox's toys.

Pullout spike rack on both sides of the stove.

I absolutely hate having to pullout a stack of pans to get to the one on the bottom. Cannot wait to use my vertical pan storage.

Slide out shallow drawer under the sink for dish detergent etc.

Trashcan drawer
Open air drawers for produce in the pantry. I have cane webbing that will be put on the front.

 Wine, liquor and glasses!

European Cutting Board

I have been eying this cutting board at Interior Designs in Ennis for several months and finally splurged on it today.  It is made of reclaimed timber from 19th century European buildings and is handcrafted in Hungary. I went over to the house as soon as I got home to find the perfect spot for it. Love love love!

Legs and doors added to the island.

 More cabinet detail

 Stair railing and wainscoting

Paint choices for trim and main living area walls

Paint choices for mudroom and pantry cabinets

 Paint choices for master suite

  Paint choices for B's room

Another successful trip to Canton with Mom, Sherry and Brox. I bought light fixtures for our closets, an old ladder to hang guest towels from in the bathroom and an antique scale/wire egg basket to hang in the kitchen. Lot's of shopping, walking and talking with some of my favorite people.

Garage Door and Driveway

We have a garage door and forms for the driveway and sidewalk. I can see lots of bike riding happening on this long driveway and hopefully lots of visitors walking up this sidewalk!
