Coming to Life!

The kitchen is really starting to come to life. We now have an island, arch over the stove, and built in around the fridge. Mom and I filled up a wagon with stuff to make sure everything fits in the space. Southern living cookbooks, cake pedestal and frying pans were all tested out:)

 Not sure why but I get super excited about pocket doors. This is the door that will separate the mudroom from the kitchen. Its magical.

 Baseboards are almost done.

 Vanity in the Brox's bath. Can't wait to see it once the legs are on. Right now it looks like its floating.

 Some of the closet built ins. Pat did a great job maximizing the space.

 Stair rails are in. Ready for them to go up so I can quit worrying about B falling off the stairs.

Auction Finds

I have been searching for a church pew for months and finally found the perfect one at the Ennis Auction house. Not sure why but I have been dead set on having a church pew as the focal point of my entryway. I saw this fabulous neo-gothic pew at the auction house and after going to see it and measure it twice I decided I had to have it. I did my first phone in live bidding and it was so exciting! I also got an antique piano stool to put next to my claw-foot tub. (and yes the photos of the pew are inside the new house. I made Jordan help me take it to the new house just so I could see what it looked like before I took it to grandmas house to store it. He was thrilled)

Listening to some polka music. He loves the radio and since the guys take the extension cords we have to bring our phone out to play music so he thinks the radio is on:)

Gas Line and Trim Work

 Gas-line has been dug

and of course I had to throw one in of the clean up crew:)

Wood Floors

We have floors! They finished the sub-floor Friday and then worked from sun up to sun down Saturday laying the hardwoods. I was so excited to see it that I made mom and Brox walk over in the dark with a flashlight. Very exciting progress! I can't wait to see them once they are sanded and stained.
